Fishing Tackle Store Closing Sale

Overview

Judy Daemer, owner of The Tackle Box, felt it was time to retire and close her business. It was a second generation family owned and operated fishing tackle store in Florida.  The decision to close was very difficult and emotional.  Judy thought the best approach to closing was a professional store closing sale.  She wanted it done quickly and efficiently while generating the highest possible cash return so she contacted G.A Wright.

The Store Closing Sale

G.A. Wright was retained to conduct the store closing.  The first day of the sale it was raining.  But, when the store opened at 7a.m 50 people were in line and the number of people increased as the day went on.  The first day resulted in more revenue than in most previous months and they sold almost 31% of their inventory.  By the end of the sale Judy had sold 98% of the inventory and store fixtures.

Comments by owner Judy Daemer

We are very happy with the bottom line, which is what we ultimately look for. The First day’s sales were equal to an average month and by the end of the 21 day sale; we will be very close to half of last year’s sales.”

“Making the decision to go out of business was tough and having a company behind me who was helping with the going out of business sale was a tremendous relief to me.”… It was absolutely the right decision to hire the G.A. Wright company, I have no reservations about recommending their service. It far exceeded what I expected to get out of this.”
